Tips on How to Keep Kids Stay Healthy and Active


There are various reasons to explain why many of the children whose their weight is piling up and grow. Earlier this year, Statistics Canada revealed that of adolescents aged 5 to 17 years only 7% who meet the minimum 60 minutes for the recommended daily activity, from the physical activity of moderate to strenuous physical activity. As reported by the todaysparent.com, experts suggest some helpful tips to keep children healthy and active:

1. Start early.
Some elite athletes began to hit a tennis ball or swinging a golf stick as soon as they begin to walk. Even if your child is not destined to become a professional athlete, active children are more likely to develop into active adults.

2. Exercise together.
Parents do not have to sit on the sidelines. Conversely, lead your family physical activity, especially when the participating are younger children. Try to make this exercise as a fun family event where all the enthusiasm to participate, such as playing badminton in the backyard.

3. Use consequences and consistent.
If your teenager agree to limit the time to watch in two hours a day, but then your child does not hold the deal, take a cell phone, iPod, video games, to help send the message that a healthy lifestyle plan for the family is not negotiable.

4. Be patient.
Most people have developed an unhealthy habit for years or decades. Forming new habits takes time. Be patient and realize it is a lifelong process.
